If you are a person of Swiss nationality and you live abroad, you can take out international insurance . The latter protects you worldwide in the event of illness or accident as if it had the role of international travel insurance. If you plan to settle outside Switzerland for a certain period, you can take out international insurance in order to benefit from insurance coverage according to Swiss standards.
Please note: if you are Swiss but do not live in Switzerland, you cannot take out classic travel insurance in Switzerland.
To take out international insurance, a few conditions must be met:
- Transferring your residence from Switzerland to another country
- No longer be subject to compulsory insurance in Switzerland
- Not be over 70 years old
- Have a bank account in Switzerland.
Please note: if you wish to take out international insurance, you must conclude it before leaving Switzerland.
