Fire Destroys shops in H-9 Islamabad Weekly Bazaar

    A minimum of 133 retailers were gutted during a blaze that engulfed the capi­tal's weekly bazaar in H-9 on Wed evening, inflicting important loss in its wake.
    H-9 bazaar's Assistant Director Haider Moslem told Datvn that the hearth started at 5: 55pm once the market was closed. -He aforesaid in just 2 hours, the hearth destroyed around 133 shops/stalls within the E and F blocks. Out of the whole 133 retailers, one hundred and one retailers were placed within the F Block whereas the remainder within the E Block.
    There ar at 1east two,700 stalls within the bazaar, includ­ing three hundred in blocks E and F, Mr. Imam said, adding that the reason for the hearth was however to be established. He aforesaid for­tunately no loss of life was reported .
Initial reports instructed the hearth started within the gar­ments section of the market and engulfed the near retailers, as well as carpet retailers., inside minutes. Thick clouds of smoke bil­lowed from the location of the blaze and will be seen from afar beside flames. The rescue groups hurried to the spot and managed to contain the blaze inside 3 hours when efforts by over a dozen firefighters.
    After the hearth was destroyed, the police sealed the realm for the night to avoid thefts of shopkeepers' product, in step with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Irfan Nawaz Memon. He aforesaid regarding 20pc space of the bazaar was affected as a results of the hearth. However, the bazaar can open on Friday as was common, he added.
DC Memon aforesaid a com­mittee had been established to determine the reason for the hearth at the bazaar. Besides, the committee also will offer recommendations for pre­cautionary measures to prevent such incidents within the future, he added.
    Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah conjointly took notice of the inci­dent. He directed the dis­trict administration to pre­pare a report on the hearth and submit it to the ministry.
This was the fourth inci­dent of fireside at the week.
